WC’s Duncan wins D3 Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute

Faith Duncan won the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals cross country race Friday in Terre Haute, Ind.

Duncan ran 21:02.79 for a season best time and new program record.

Also, Noah Tobin finished 11th in the men’s race with a time of 24:47.68.

Other members of the WC cross country teams competed in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Friday at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio. Sophomore Meghan Cory led Wilmington at Ohio Wesleyan with a 95th place finish in a time of 25:41.1 in the women’s race. This is a new personal best for Cory.

Also running personal bests were sophomore Hayden Setty with a time of 27:09.6 in 136th place, freshman Allyson Merriman at 28:47.1, freshman Leah Gorby crossed the line in 32:22.7, and junior Abby Jo Leiss in 33:27.6. Senior Bella Stevens finished the race at 31:25.7.

On the men’s side, Tate Yoder earned his second Top-15 finish of the season, crossing the line in 26:26.1 to finish in 15th position.

Junior Gabe Moore had his second-best finish of the season with a 30th place mark after running a season-best time of 26:51.5. Senior Tyler Parks also ran his best time of the season and finished in 79th after crossing the finish line in 27:42.3. Henry Hildebrandt ran the best time of his freshman season, finishing in 104th at 28:05.8.

Freshman Keegan Kidd had a personal best time of 29:59.2. Two more Quakers ran season bests in Bryson Robinette at 31:33.1 and Bryce Hensley (31:35.4). Two personal bests came in the form of Dominic Capocciama (32:23.8) and Cameron Chatfield (32:35.0).

The Quakers will host the JennaStrong Fall Classic Oct. 18 on the WC campus. The women are slated to run at 4:30 p.m. with the men’s race set to start at 5:15 p.m.
