CHILLICOTHE — East Clinton finished 20th out of 34 schools Saturday in the Unioto Invitational, an “under the lights” cross country meet.

Coach Josh Simmons said the meet is normally held in the morning but was moved to late afternoon and evening races, a first for the Astro runners.

Jackson Seabaugh led the Astros by finishing 45th in 18:29.9. He was followed by Dru Simmons 100th in 20:13.7; Kaiden Roth 118th in 21:05.7 (PR), Jacob George 146th in 22:27.9, Colton Brockman 162nd in 23:29.9, Ben Gates 169th in 24:00.8 (PR), Eoin Hackmann 183rd in 24:58.7, Elyon Hackmann 189th in 25:52.4 and Wyatt Oberschlake 199th in 28:38.2.

“EC was against some very tough competition,” coach Simmons said. “While no medals were obtained, the Astros left with four personal records a few more close ball this go around.”

Ally George was the lone EC runner in the middle school girls race. She finished 69th in 16:19.7.

In the middle school boys race, Carter Kaun was 52nd in 13:34.6, Jaxson Manning 70th in 13:47.4 (PR), Owen Smith 87th in 14:21.5 (PR). For Smith, the personal best time was 65 seconds better than his previous best mark.
