WILMINGTON, Ohio — Early this morning, a Wilmington City Schools bus was involved in an accident at the intersection of South South and Randolph streets. According to WCS Superintendent Tim Dettwiller, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The crash, which occurred during the morning commute, caused damage to the front bumper of the school bus, necessitating it to be towed from the scene. “The bus driver was not at fault,” Dettwiller said, adding that all students on board were transferred to another bus and safely transported to their respective school building.

In a statement, Dettwiller expressed gratitude for the prompt response from local authorities: “I want to thank Wilmington PD and first responders for their swift response,” he said, acknowledging the quick actions taken to ensure the safety and security of the students.
