The Clinton County Solid Waste Management District (SWMD) recently recognized Maggie Morris of the Sabina area for her dedication to recycling and animal welfare. SWMD mascot “Buster the Mouse” and Erin Camery visited the community drop-off recycling containers next to the Sabina community swimming pool, where they spotted Morris responsibly disposing of recyclables.

Morris shared her passion for recycling, explaining how she strives to do her part by encouraging others to see how much of their waste can be easily recycled. “It’s something simple everyone can do to make a difference,” she said.

In addition to being a dedicated recycler, Morris is also an advocate for animal welfare. She works to control the stray cat population in her community by trapping, neutering, and releasing cats where she can. Her efforts help improve the lives of these animals and contribute to a healthier environment.

To show appreciation for her efforts in practicing the 3 Rs—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—the SWMD presented Morris with a recycled-content prize pack. The prize included a new entry rug and a reusable shopping bag, both made from recycled materials. As an animal lover and recycler, Maggie was thrilled to receive items that she and her rescue cats could enjoy.

The Clinton County SWMD encourages residents to participate in the community’s recycling program. “You could be the next person caught green-handed,” the SWMD team stated. By recycling household items such as bottles, jars, cans, and newspapers at one of the five Clinton County drop-off locations, residents have the chance to win great prizes.
