The Clinton County Foundation is seeking candidates interested in serving on its board of trustees. As a nationally accredited community foundation, the organization offers charitable investing and grants to local nonprofits who are making a lasting and positive impact on the community, according to a news release.

The Foundation’s board recognizes charitable giving is the most direct and effective investment that can be made to build a thriving, resilient community. An important part of this is nurturing connections between people and groups to magnify contributions and bring out the best in Clinton County.

“Our core values of community spirit, respect, excellence and inclusion are central to our work. We are seeking experienced community-minded individuals who are inspired to serve and strengthen Clinton County,” said Joshua Engel, board president.

He continued, “Each year we reach out to the public with this opportunity. It is important that our board represents the diversity of Clinton County. We believe everyone’s experience is valuable and take an open-minded approach that values working together to make the greatest impact. I particularly want to encourage individuals from traditionally underrepresented and underutilized portions of our community to apply. If you are looking for a way to volunteer in the community through board service, this is your chance.”

A board member term is three years long and up to two additional terms. The board meets approximately six times a year and members sit on at least one committee that meet as needed. Committees include: Investment & Finance, Audit, Grants & Scholarships and Marketing & Development. The Foundation is particularly interested in individuals with skills or experiences with agriculture, accounting, development and technology. Meetings take place in person and remotely via video and conference call. Members are expected to adhere to the Foundation’s conflict of interest and non-discrimination policies.

Those interested in serving are asked to send a resume and cover letter expressing their interest by Nov. 1 to the Foundation’s executive director, Alison Belfrage at [email protected].

For more information, please contact Belfrage by email or at 937-566-1634.
