BLANCHESTER — Kaylee Coyle led all scorers with 32 points but Blanchester came up short, 57-52, with its fourth quarter rally Saturday against Dayton Christian.
Coyle was joined in the scoring column by Gracie Roy (7 points), Ali Trovillo (7 points), Shelbie Panetta (3 points) and Karlee Tipton (3 points).
Dayton Christian started out on fire, hitting the nets for 23 first quarter points. But Blanchester was within reach, trailing by seven, 23-16, at the quarter break.
It was still a seven-point game at halftime with Blanchester behind 33-26.
The Wildcats scored only two points in the third period and all seemed lost when DC took a 44-28 advantage to the fourth quarter.
However, with 2:25 left in the game, Blanchester had put its heart and soul into a big rally and was within 51-49. The Warriors made several free throws the rest of the way to hold on for the win.
Blanchester won the junior varsity game, 36-29. Ali Trovillo had 14 points and Bella Kelly scored 12. Jocelyn Lansing and Tobi Tedrick had five points each.
