WILMINGTON — On Monday morning, the Clinton County Commissioners welcomed the newest member of the Clinton County Building and Zoning department.

Andrea Longenecker, the recently-appointed Clinton County zoning inspector, took the opportunity to introduce herself to the commissioners. With a background in real estate, Longenecker expressed her desire for a “change in direction” and shared her Clinton-Massie roots, being both a graduate herself and having family ties to the school district.

During the session, commissioner Kerry R. Steed provided valuable insights, advising Longenecker about the unpredictable nature of the job and emphasizing the importance of flexibility. Steed also introduced the concept of “Clean up Clinton County,” encouraging Longenecker to familiarize herself with this initiative.

Building and zoning manager Stephanie Austin was also present, supporting Longenecker as she embarks on this new role. The commissioners expressed their enthusiasm for Longenecker’s contributions to the community and offered guidance as she steps into her responsibilities.
