XENIA — Clinton-Massie girls golf coach James Brady isn’t so worried about scores at this time of year.
Oh, he wants to win, make no mistake, but he sees a bigger prize awaiting his talented squad by seasons’s end.
Clinton-Massie defeated Greeneview 190 to 243 Wednesday here at Jasper Hills Golf Club, another prime layout to get his squad ready for the post-season.
“A hidden gem of a course. Jasper Hills is a challenging and a well maintained course,” Brady said. “We have played on some more difficult tracks this season in hopes to prepare our girls for a deep post-season run — Miami Whitewater (Div. 1 boys sectional course), WGC (Div. 1 girls sectional course), Jasper Hills, BelWood, will pay off come late September.”
Grace Boone led the way for the Falcons with a 43.
“Grace played well,” said Brady. “As difficult as the setting, Boone thrived. A putt here, a bounce there, she’s in the 30s.
“Charlotte Robinson also carded a season best. Char is really struck the ball well today. She sank about a 30 footer on No. 9 to end her round.”
