BLANCHESTER — Lydia Siler made a big turnaround and Blanchester defeated East Clinton 4-1 Thursday night on the BHS courts.

“I think this was the best we’ve played top to bottom all season. I’m so incredibly proud of our singles players. They all played so well,” Blanchester coach Matt Sexton.

Especially Siler, who lost 2-6, 1-6 in the first meeting against East Clinton.

”I couldn’t be happier for Lydia,” Sexton said. “When we played over at EC earlier this year, she won just three games. She absolutely battled in this one. She was as patient as I’ve ever seen her. She waited for the right opportunities to be aggressive. Stephanie Lambert didn’t back down either. It was a tremendous match.”

In the 2 1/2 hour match, Siler outlasted Lambert 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. The match concluded under the lights at BHS.
