The East Clinton freshman volleyball team defeated Washington Senior 25-10, 25-10 Tuesday in the first of three matches (all EC wins) at WSHS.
Coach Rhylee Luttrell said the team served and communicated well in the victory. The defense was strong, reading the Blue Lions offense accurately to get in position to attack on offense. “It is one of the best times I have seen the girls play together as a team,” Luttrell said.
On Aug. 31, East Clinton played in a tournament at Western Brown but lost matches to McClain 5-15, 12-25, Clinton-Massie 16-25, 21-25 and Western Brown 15-25, 10-25.
”The girls started to play better their second set against Massie and put up a fight, but unfortunately we couldn’t pull out a win,” said Luttrell. “The girls did well against Western Brown too, but they were a good group of girls who looked to have been playing together for a while.”
