First-place Lions hand Hurricane fifth straight loss

]NEW RICHMOND — First-place New Richmond handed Wilmington a 14-25, 10-25, 14-25 defeat Thursday in SBAAC American Division volleyball.

Wilmington is 3-6 overall, 1-4 in the American. The Lions are 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the division.

“We came out strong but the minute things don’t go our way we start reverting back to our old habits of sending free balls, over-tipping and putting ourself on the defensive end and playing not to lose instead of playing to win,” WHS coach Stephanie Reveal said. “I just need someone to step up and take charge.”

In the midst of a five-match losing streak, Reveal said things don’t get easier for the Hurricane next week with Miami Trace, Batavia and Blanchester on the schedule.
