BEAVERCREEK — Andy Steed fired a 3-under par 33 Monday and Clinton-Massie posted a season-best nine-hole score in its win over Fairmont at the Beavercreek Golf Club.
The Falcons finished with a 159 while the Firebirds had 170.
Steed was the match medalist on a difficult course, CM coach Phil Larrick said. Steed, the state runnerup last year, was 2-over par through four holes then finished with five straight birdies.
“That is definitely the best finish I have ever seen in a high school match,” Larrick said.
Owen Goodwin and Jack DeHart both came in with 40s while Micah Ruther and Wyatt Scott both had 46s. Colson Morgan carded a 47.
“It was nice that we got a win against a Division I school on their (home) course,” said Larrick.
