Tigers remain in first place tie after 4-0 win over Wildcats

BETHEL — Bethel-Tate remained in a tie for first place with Williamsburg following the Tigers 4-0 win over Blanchester Tuesday night.

The Wildcats are 5-5 overall, 2-4 in the National Division. The Tigers are 8-0-2 overall and 5-0-1 in the conference.

Bethel-Tate led 1-0 at half. Karlee Tipton had five saves and Ava Lanham four in goal for Blanchester.

“Bethel-Tate is first in the league for a reason,” Blanchester coach Kyle Hamilton said. “They are well-coached and keep the pressure on offensively and are tough defensively.

“I thought our girls played well keeping them to one goal in the first half. This is also an improvement from earlier this season when they beat us 9-0 at home. Our defense and midfield played better, but we needed to make more connecting passes offensively and get off more shots to hang with Bethel.”
