1-2 punch again leads Falcons to knockout win in SBAAC American Division

The Clinton-Massie boys golf team won its 100th straight match against SBAAC American Division teams Wednesday in the league’s 18-hole golf championship tournament at Eagles Nest Golf Course.

GOSHEN — Andy Steed and Owen Goodwin concluded historic SBAAC American Division careers Wednesday at the SBAAC American Division 18-hole golf tournament at Eagles Nest Golf Course.

Steed won his fourth straight tournament and player of the year honor.

Goodwin was runnerup among all individuals for the fourth straight year.

And the Clinton-Massie boys golf team as a whole won its fourth consecutive league championship by a whopping 39 strokes.

Steed had a 67 on Wednesday while Goodwin carded a 74.

Wilmington freshman Gunnar Martin had a 75 and finished third in the tournament. The Hurricane finished third as a team in the tournament.

In the season standings, Wilmington was fourth as a team. The Falcons won the season title by 106 strokes over runnerup Batavia.

The Steed-Goodwin-Martin trio went 1-2-3 in the overall individual standings for the season.
