Alternatives to Violence Center seeks members for advisory board

The Alternatives to Violence Center (AVC) is currently looking for passionate community members to join its Advisory Board. This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to make a difference by supporting those affected by physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, according to a news release.

The center’s mission is to assist abuse survivors, provide public education on the issue, and promote the general welfare of the community. As an Advisory Board member, those interested can play a vital role in guiding the organization and supporting its efforts to help those in need.

Dara Gullette, director of the Alternatives to Violence Center, is inviting individuals with a variety of skills, fresh ideas, and leadership experience to apply. Board members should be empathetic to the organization’s mission and ready to offer their time and insight to advance its work.

Board members are required to attend six meetings a year, held every two months, alternating between the Clinton County and Highland County offices. In addition to these meetings, members are encouraged to support AVC by attending key events like fundraisers, awareness activities, and proclamation signings.

If you are interested in joining the Alternatives to Violence Advisory Board or would like to learn more, please contact Dara Gullette. Copies of the center’s policy and procedures manual, along with its bylaws, are available upon request.
