Morgan, Thamann keep Falcons in American Division race

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Kennedy Morgan’s goal in the 78th minute lifted Clinton-Massie to a crucial 1-0 win Tuesday over Batavia in boys soccer at Frank Irelan Field.

In a battle of two teams in the upper half of SBAAC American Division, the Falcons have won two straight matches and now stand 7-5 overall, 5-3 in the league. Prior to the latest wins, Massie had dropped four of five.

The Bulldogs also are 5-3 in league play and 6-5-2 overall. Wilmington and Goshen lead the loop at 6-2.

Jack Thamann had five saves and recorded his sixth shutout of the season.

The two teams battled scoreless through the entire match until Morgan found room in the Bulldogs defense on a midfield run. Morgan beat the Batavia keeper with a shot in the upper right portion of the goal, CM coach Trevor Kackley said.
