XENIA — The Blanchester girls golf team ended its season Wednesday in the Division II Sectional tournament here at the WGC Golf Course.

“I was really pleased with the way the girls battled throughout their rounds,” BHS coach Jamey Grogg said. “The game of golf can wear you down mentally and I thought they all did a great job of handling the adversity they faced as they maintained positive attitudes and had strong finishes to their rounds.”

Alivia Brewster had a 107 (53-54) for the Wildcats in her final high school match.

“Our lone senior ended her outstanding golf career with her best score at WGC in four years of golf,” said Grogg. “Alivia worked extremely hard the last four years to improve and make herself the solid golfer she is today. She has been a tremendous leader this year and really did a great job of helping the first year golfers learn ‘the ropes” of being a member of a high school golf team; she will be missed next year.”

Riley Ledford was next in line with a 111 (52-59) while Emily Bates had 133, Gabrielle Powell 148 and Caidance Latham 159.
