‘Get Caught Recycling’ campaign recognizes the McLartys

Lyle and Rosemary McLarty, of the Midland area, were recently recognized for their commitment to recycling by “Buster the Mouse” and Erin Camery from the Clinton County Solid Waste Management District (SWMD). The couple was “caught green-handed” while placing recyclables in the community drop-off containers behind the UDF in Blanchester.

The McLartys, who have been recycling for over 10 years, use various SWMD Drop-Off Recycling locations depending on their errands. They shared with “Buster” that they believe recycling is an easy way to reduce landfill waste.

In recognition of their efforts and dedication to practicing the three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), the McLartys received a recycled-content prize pack, packaged inside a reusable shopping bag made from recycled plastic bottles.

Residents of Clinton County are encouraged to participate in the recycling program for a chance to win great prizes, just like the McLartys. To learn more about the six drop-off locations and accepted materials, visit the SWMD’s website at www.co.clinton.oh.us/recycling. You could be the next to be caught “green-handed.”
