BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester girls soccer team lost to Lynchburg-Clay 3-0 Tuesday night at Barbour Memorial Field.

The match was the Kick for the Cure contest to raise money for a local Blanchester family impacted by cancer, coach Kyle Hamilton said.

The loss leaves the Wildcats 8-7 on the year.

The Mustangs led 2-0 at halftime. Karlee Tipton had five saves in goal for Blanchester.

“Lynchburg was a tough, well-coached team,” Hamilton said. “They kept us from controlling the ball in the middle of the field, which kept us a pretty disconnected team. They’ve got some really strong players all over the field that gave us some trouble.”
