Bailie Bare ended Blanchester’s thrilling win over Deer Park Saturday with a service ace to advance the Wildcats to the next round of the post-season tournament.
East Clinton also was victorious on Saturday 25-4, 25-8 25-8 in a Division VI match with Riverview East at Norwood High School.
As the No. 2 seed, the Astros will play No. 1 seed Miami Valley Christian 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Norwood. The winner advances to the district championship match.
Emily Arnold had 11 aces and 30 assists for East Clinton. Karsyn Jamison and Colie Murarescu had 10 kills each.
In other county matches, Wilmington was defeated by No. 4 Turpin 25-14, 25-8, 25-11 in a Division III match at Lakota East.
No. 2 Roger Bacon was a 25-5, 25-10, 25-8 winner over Clinton-Massie in a Division IV match at Lakota West.
Blanchester won the match over Deer Park 26-24, 25-19, 17-25, 20-25, 19-17. The Wildcats will face No. 2 seed Summit Country Day 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Lebanon.
