Southern State Community College has announced Doug Daniels, of Greenfield, as the new commander of the Ohio Basic Peace Officer Academy (OPOTA).

WILMINGTON — A new partnership and a long-awaited road project were announced at Thursday’s Wilmington City Council meeting.

The community is invited to attend Wilmington College’s Agricultural Law class featuring guest presenter Andy Vance, Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m., in Room 148 of the Center for the Sciences and Agriculture. The facility is located at the corner of Elm and College streets.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ashley Rose, organization director for Clinton, Fayette, Greene and Warren County Farm Bureaus, is the recipient of the 2022 Yvonne Lesicko Perseverance Prize. Known as the Y Prize, the award is presented by the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation and recognizes individuals for their innovative work on farmer mental wellness initiatives.

The Clinton County Coalition on Homelessness (CCCH) will hold a community forum Monday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. The event, which will be held in the Moyer Community Room at the Wilmington Municipal Building, will provide an update on ongoing coordinated efforts to respond to homelessness in Clinton County.

WILMINGTON — At Thursday’s Wilmington City Council meeting, Greg Pitzer, father of Casey Pitzer, asked Wilmington Police Chief Ron Fithen to inform the council and audience an update regarding his daughter’s case.

Early voting is in its final days ahead of the general election on Tuesday. The last day for early voting is Monday.
