Lions roar in 5-0 win over Wildcats at BHS

BLANCHESTER — New Richmond visited Blanchester and came away with a 5-0 win over the Wildcats in non-league tennis on the BHS courts.

New Richmond is 7-3 on the year while Blanchester is 3-5.

”New Richmond has a really good team,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “I thought we competed well at singles, even at second and third, where the scores weren’t as close.

“Lilly (Bates) had late leads in both sets only to fall 7-5, 6-4. She played well. It was a very even match with a player who is 8-2 on the year at first singles. Lilly has been playing very well against good competition lately.”
