The Clinton County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) is excited to announce the relocation of its operations from the historic Nike Center campus to a new, centrally-located facility at 180 E. Sugartree St. in Wilmington, according to a news release.

To celebrate this new chapter, the CCBDD is hosting an open house event on Oct. 15, from 1-3 p.m., at the new location. The community is invited to attend an afternoon of refreshments and tours of the facility, and to learn more about its ongoing programs and meet the dedicated team.

A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. in conjunction with the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce.

“After years of operation at the Nike Center campus—a sprawling 16-acre property with seven buildings—the strategic decision to move was made to improve operational efficiencies and better utilize taxpayer resources,” said Kyle Lewis, superintendent. “As of July 31, 2024, we have officially vacated the Nike Center campus, honoring its significance in our history while eagerly anticipating a promising future in our new location. This central location in Wilmington will allow us to operate under one roof, enhancing accessibility and creating numerous efficiencies.”
