WFD expands capabilities

0

With city budgets tight, the Wilmington Fire Department is using grants to expand its rescue ability. Recently WFD has received grants for grain bin rescue and rope rescue equipment and trainings collectively valued at over $10,000. While the department hopes not to have to use this equipment, WFD covers several grain facilities both commercial and private. This equipment will help WFD to give a better chance of a victim of grain entrapment, as well as perform other specialty rescues. WFD would like to thank Wal-Mart Community Grant Program, Wal-Mart Store 1289, Nationwide Insurance, D&E Equipment, Buckley Brothers, and Master Feed Mill for making specialized this equipment possible. If this equipment saves one life, it will all be worth it.
