WILMINGTON — In recognition of National Victims’ Rights Week, Wilmington College is hosting an exposition for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and all other interested persons, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 6 in Pyle Student Center.

The event is free of charge.

A highlight will be WC’s rendition of the national “Clothesline Project,” in which anyone in attendance can paint a T-shirt with an anti-violence slogan for display on a “Survivors Wall” in the Student Dining Hall.

The College’s sexual assault victim advocacy group known as “It’s On Us,” which includes, among others, hotline interns and workers, are partnering with Clinton County agencies, which will invite victims, families and friends they serve to this community-wide event.

Chanda Valentine, victim advocate with Alternatives to Violence, will speak about victims’ rights and how victims’ lives have been affected through domestic violence and sexual assault.

Wilmington College received a $1,480 mini-grant in conjunction with the Title IX/VOCA grant to present a program in support of victims during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 3-10.
