Cheryl Roberts Beta Sigma Phi’s First Lady of the Year

Both Wilmington Chapters of Beta Sigma Phi held their last meeting and dinner before their summer recess at McCoy’s Catering on May 16.

Cheryl Roberts was honored as the sorority’s First Lady of the Year. This award is given to a person in the community who is not a member of Beta Sigma Phi who has done outstanding work for our community.

Roberts was presented a bouquet of yellow roses and a $100 check to help the Kids Care Club program she has founded.

Kids Care Club is active in the East Clinton School District and involves about 100 students in grades 3 to 5. These students learn team building, communication and cooperation activities, and complete projects to help organizations in Clinton County.

Roberts spoke briefly about the program and its achievements. She also received many bags of supplies personally purchased and donated by the members attending.

Guests present were Roberts and Terri Camp. Preceptor Psi members present were Anita Allen, Nancy Bernard, Anne Carr, Sonia Grant, Lois Hackney, Christi Johnson, Sharon Johnson, Nan Kennelly, Leslie Rose, Janet Smart, Marilyn Rollwage and Connie Townsend. Beta Master Chapter members present were: Lois Allen, Barbara Davis, Charlotte Fahrer, Pam Gibson, Bonnie Mathews, Sara Maus, JoAnn Murphy, Carole Nichols, Jessie Siders and Janie Wildowner.
