HAMILTON — The Wilmington High School softball team dropped a pair of non-league games Saturday to Badin High School to start the 2016 season.

The Lady Hurricane lost the first game 12-2 then dropped the second game 6-1.

“Badin is a very good team,” WHS head coach Glen Blessing said. “They returned most of their roster from last year’s regional semifinal team. They have two really nice pitchers. Hopefully playing them helps make our team stronger.”

Hunter Toller and Courtney Smart had three hits each on the day. WHS had 10 hits total in the two games.

Kelsi Bair and Madi Flint were starters on the mound and tagged with the pitching losses in each game.
