The Wilmington Area Tennis Association is gearing up for its summer program.
Registration for the 10 and under program is underway. This year, the number of players in this program will be limited. Both age groups will begin play at 6 p.m. — 6 to 8 year olds June 13-17 and 9 to 10 year olds June 13-17 — on the Wilmington High School tennis courts.
Cost is $60 per player if registered by May 20. End of year pool party will be held on a date to be determined.

WATA Team Tennis will be mostly match play this year. Players looking to get instruction should consider also doing WATA Tennis Academy.
The WATA Tennis Academy will be taught by Eric Guindon.
The White Group for developing players mostly 10 and under will meet 9 to 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
The Orange group for intermediate players mostly middle school through junior varsity levels will meet 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Black Group for advanced players mostly at the high school varsity level will meet 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Cost is $15 per session, with a discount available if paid ahead monthly.
WATA Tennis Academy will be for players who are committed to improving their game and getting to the next level of play. Players unsure which level to sign up for should go ahead and sign-up and you may be moved if needed.
The WATA Adult Tennis program will be offered but meeting dates will be based on interest by number of players who sign-up. Those who sign-up will be contact by WATA officials to decide meeting times.
Private lessons also are available with several college players giving the lessons this summer.
