NEW RICHMOND — The Blanchester varsity girls cross country team finished second Saturday at the New Richmond Invitational.

Blanchester coach Tony Blevins said the Ladycats ran “against a very competitive field.”

The boys were sixth but had their best team race of the season, Blevins said.

“We are close to having our top four, one freshman and three sophomores, under 19 minutes,” said Blevins. “Both freshman Hunter Browning and sophomore Ricky Davis have cut over 30 seconds off their times in the past week.”

Savannah Rhodes led the BHS girls by finishing 8th in 21:39.17 but was followed closely by Mckenzie Hamm in 11th and Olivia Gundler in 13th.

Browning was 12th in the boys race.
