MIDDLETOWN —The Clinton-Massie boys bowling team edged Monroe Wednesday at Eastern Lanes 2,164 to 2,117 in a non-league match.

The CM girls lost to Monroe 1,136 to 807.

“Bowling at Eastern Lanes was an eye opener to our bowlers,” said CM coach Shonda Marburger. “The lanes are synthetic and react much different than the lanes we practice on at Royal Z.

“The varsity boys did well, but we still struggled on a couple individual games as well as our baker games.”

Joey Marburger and Aric France continue to form a potent 1-2 punch at the top for the Falcons. Marburger had a 399 series (206, 193) while France came in with 383 (190, 193).

Jacob Wellman had games of 151, 192. Kenton McInerney had games of 173, 144 while Corey Potts bowled 132 and 119 games.

The boys baker games were 163, 159, 149.

On the girls side, Jennifer Callewaert led with a 263 (106 and 157).

“The girls are still showing great enthusiasm with only have three bowlers. They are getting practice in while still having fun,” Marburger said.

Emily Rager had 102 and 116 while Kylie Harvey bowled games of 95 and 65.

For the reserve boys, Clinton-Massie lost a close one, 1,438 to 1,401.

“The JV Boys are doing well and improving each and every day,” said Marburger. “I see great improvement with their knowledge of bowling. The are beginning to understand the game.”

John Gehringer had 140 and 126 games while Hunter Broderick bowled games of 140 and 114. Logan Rauh had 97 and 114 and Luke Campbell finished with 66 and 127. Adin Lamb had 83 and 93.
