NEW RICHMOND — The Blanchester wrestling team lost a pair of matches Wednesday to open its season at New Richmond.

The Wildcats were defeated by the host Lions 47-22 and lost to Ross 63-14.

Brent Hopkins at 145 pounds was the lone BHS wrestler to garner a pair of wins. He recorded a 15-4 major decision over Dane of New Richmond and a 13-2 MD over Young of Ross.
